Walk with Mountain Rescue Leader Nick Owen
Explore the mountain tops the of Langdale Valley, most notably the iconic and distinctive Langdale Pikes with experienced Ambleside & Langdale Mountain Rescue Team Leader Nick Owen. Nick's knowledge of the region through his years as a member of one of the Lake District busiest Mountain Rescue Teams will give the group a different and insightful look of the Lakeland fells and the work of the Mountain Rescue Teams.
After a well earned home cooked evening meal back at YHA Elterwater off we off we go by minibus to one of the Lakes Districts prestigious Beer Festivals held at Hawkshead Brewery. A great way to enjoy a group social evening and try a host of Cumbrian beers.
Sunday walk exploring the local landscape of the old slate mining industry with sections of the walk on less well trodden areas plus a short but interesting walk through an old mining cave system (Cathedral Caves). We'll end the weekend with a pub lunch (not included in the package).

Summary Itinerary
- Day 1 - Check in available from 5pm. Welcome evening at 8.30pm
- Day 2 - Mountain walk in the Langdale Valley with a local Mountain Rescue Team Leader. Evening at the Hawkshead Beer Festival.
- Day 3 - Departure Day. Moderate grade walk with an experienced guide. The holiday will finish between 4-5pm.

YHA Elterwater
YHA Elterwater, a converted farmhouse, provides great accommodation in a popular but tranquil Lakeland village close to a 16th century Inn and superbly located for walks in the Lake District central fells.
Expect good food and a warm welcome.
