Coronavirus Covid-19 UPDATE

I recently contacted everyone booked on our trips with an update in relation to Coronavirus Covid-19. It was my hope to continue operating our trips as best we could in clearly difficult times. However, this is a fast moving situation and it has become evidently clear, with certain institutions already on temporary lockdown and the uncertainty around places like London and other, if not all places, facing temporary lockdown, I need to make a clear decision to protect our guests and everyones interests and postpone all Country Adventures trips and activities until the end of April 2020.

I am sure you will be as disappointed as I am. It is clearly a difficult time for everyone, but our top priority is to protect the health of our guests and the whole country and it is clear from the 16 March 2020 government advice and more updates in recent days and hours, there is a major nationwide effort to clamp down on the spread of this virus to act in the interests of everyone.

The decision to suspend all of our activities until the end of April 2020 and then review the situation at that time has been one of the most difficult decisions in 20 years of running Country Adventures but as with all the major walking holiday and leisure businesses doing the same, it is the right decision to make at this time.

I am contacting all guests impacted by these travel restrictions and all have the option to transfer to another holiday later this year or in 2021 / 2022 or receive credit vouchers that will be issued in the coming days for monies paid.

I understand the situation with people booking their own accommodation for certain trips so please contact your accommodation provider regarding their cancellation policy in these exceptional times or at the very least reserve the right to carry your booking forward to a future date.

On a final note, we’re all hearing the words ‘we’re in this together’, and this is so true at this time. I want to thank everyone who has been so understanding. I know as the owner of a small business that the financial cost to us alone doesn’t bare thinking about, but there are bigger more important things to focus on, like people. So please, stay safe everyone, help each other out where possible, whether that’s just a telephone call or message, to a friend or loved one…or dare I say it, your favourite walking & adventure provider (that’s us, Country Adventures, if I’m being too subtle 😊).

Be assured, once we’re all back to some form of normality, we’ll be here, offering memorable UK adventure trips you’ve come to expect from us, and we look forward to seeing you then. In the meantime, we’re not going anywhere, and we’ll be posting some stunning outdoor photos via our social media Facebook | Instagram | Twitter , and if you haven’t done so already sign up to receive our (monthly) e-News & Special Offers email > sign up here

See you soon and best wishes

Joe – Country Adventures
